Connor Dean York

The biggest and most monumental day of our lives snuck up on us like a mouse! I woke up this morning feeling sort of wierd and strange, I had some cramp type feelings in my abdomen, which I thought were just braxton hicks (I was pregnant at the time) so I didn't say anything to Scott. We went and had lunch at Ihop, ran to the post office, and then stopped and got some movies. We were driving home, and they got worse so I called my mom and she said just to go home and chill out, rest, ya know see if they'd stop.

Soooo after a couple of movies I look at Scott like they aren't stopping...so we called the doctor and she said "No it sounds like braxton hicks," then told us to come in only if they got closer togeter. Well we waited and they kept coming...they really weren't that painful I just couldn't make  myself believe that they were REAL labor pains...I mean they weren't as bad as period cramps!

Well after about 6 hours of these things...we finally decided to go to the hospital to get checked out...so we go up to the Delivery floor and get checked in...then they start asking all the questions...ask me how far along I am (34 weeks) ect. She tells me it's probably nothing, but they're going to do a gyno exam just to be sure. While she's examining she looks up at me and has a look of shock on her face...and she turns to scott and I and says "Ya'll are gonna have a baby tonight"

I can NOT begin to explain the panick and worry I felt in that moment. I knew he wasn't ready to come out yet and I knew I wasn't ready for labor yet (hey it's scary)! But we were both about to GET ready! We went into the hospital at 6:45ish and I had a epidural an hr later...then at 10:13 we met our beautiful baby boy. It was a whirlwind. I only had actual labor for about 15 minutes!

Connor Dean York was born on that day, and our lives changed forever. He was born 4lbs 12 oz and was 18 inches long. He was perfect...blue eyes, full head of hair...just perfect. He was really little and totally ready to come out though so he ended up staying in the nursery for about 2 weeks until he mastered eating out of a bottle, held his temperature up, and could be off all IV's. It was the scariest weeks I've ever endured, but I am so thankful we had such amazing doctors and nurses there to take care of him.

First time we got to ut clothes on him...even the preemie clothes swallowed him up!

We enjoy our little boy everyday and he gives us so much joy and happiness.

Love you Connor Dean
